Chaotic superhero sandbox where every punch rewrites the city

Super Sim drops you into a sprawling comic-book metropolis and hands you the script. You create your own superhuman from scratch, then unleash them into a city populated by up to 150 heroes and villains, each with their own allegiances and agendas. The result is a messy, unpredictable shared universe where brawls can erupt on any street corner and your choices really do shift the balance of power.

Gameplay is built on the fast, grappling-heavy combat system fans may recognize from classic wrestling titles, but here it’s souped up with laser blasts, flight, telekinesis and a wardrobe of outlandish costumes and gadgets. Fights are gloriously chaotic: punches send enemies flying, powers collide in mid-air, and improvised weapons add slapstick mayhem. Controls rely on virtual buttons (attack, grapple, run, special, etc.), and while the layout is explained in-game, the scheme can feel cramped and clumsy until you adjust.

What really sells Super Sim is the sense of ownership over the world. Upgrading unlocks full editing and persistence, letting you reshape every character, lock in your story choices and even start the game as your favorite hero or villain. There’s also a dedicated Fight Scene mode that works like a sandbox: set up dream matchups, experiment with powers or just blow off steam without worrying about story consequences.

Visually, Super Sim is rough around the edges, with chunky models and stiff animations that feel more indie than blockbuster. However, the sheer density of characters, locations and interactions compensates for the lack of polish, and the comic-style presentation has a scrappy charm.

Super Sim won’t appeal to players looking for slick production values or tight, precision combat. But if you love open-ended sandboxes, emergent chaos and building your own ridiculous superhero drama, it’s a wildly entertaining city to get lost in.
