The backbone of AnimA is its flexible character progression. You choose between Skirmish, Archery and Sorcery, then freely mix skills through an excellent multiclass system. This lets you experiment with agile melee builds, glass-cannon mages or hybrid demon hunters without ever feeling locked into a single path. The game rewards tinkering, and powerful new abilities arrive at a steady, addictive pace.

Content-wise, AnimA is impressively generous. Over 40 handcrafted levels, more than 10 secret stages and a staircase of increasing difficulties create a potentially endless challenge. Boss fights are a highlight, forcing you to learn patterns rather than simply spamming attacks. The experience is fully playable offline, making it ideal for long sessions on the go.

Visually, AnimA punches above its weight. Environments are gloomy and atmospheric, spell effects explode across the screen, and the brooding soundtrack ties the whole dark-fantasy theme together. Performance is generally smooth, even when hordes of demons fill the screen.

Not everything is perfect. The interface can feel a bit clunky, and the on-screen controls sometimes struggle with precision in tight encounters. The grind-heavy structure won’t appeal to everyone, and the old-school difficulty spikes can be punishing if you don’t enjoy replaying areas for better gear.

Still, for players craving a deep, loot-driven action RPG with a strong retro soul, AnimA ARPG delivers a meaty, challenging adventure that respects both your time and your inner min-maxer.
