Gripping co-op survival RPG in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

Pocket ZONE throws you into a bleak, text-driven wasteland where every decision feels like it could be your last. Inspired by stalker fiction and classic post-apocalyptic RPGs, it delivers a surprisingly deep survival experience wrapped in a grim Chernobyl setting.

The heart of the game is its hybrid design: part text adventure, part stat-heavy RPG. You create a hero from a wide selection of visual parts and then specialize through an old-school class and skill system. Whether you lean into marksmanship, stealth, or barter, your build genuinely influences how you survive bandits, mutants and the hazards of the Zone.

Events are procedurally generated, so runs rarely feel identical. One moment you’re scavenging for scrap and food, the next you’re ambushed by raiders or stumbling across a valuable artifact in an anomaly field. The game constantly forces trade-offs: push deeper for better loot and risk radiation and wounds, or retreat to lick your wounds and regroup with your co-op partners.

Co-op play is a standout. Teaming up lets you share resources, coordinate roles and survive encounters that would shred a lone wanderer. It adds a social layer to the tension, especially when a bad collective decision snowballs into disaster.

Visually, Pocket ZONE uses stylized character animations and moody art to sell the oppressive atmosphere, while sound effects and ambient audio help evoke a lonely, dangerous Zone. The interface can feel dense at first, and the text-heavy nature may overwhelm players looking for fast action, but those who enjoy reading, planning and min-maxing will find a lot to love.

For fans of hardcore survival, branching text quests and retro RPG systems, Pocket ZONE is an addictive descent into irradiated desperation.
