The Ghost is a cooperative horror experience that turns familiar spaces like hospitals, schools, and apartments into nerve-racking escape rooms. Designed around online multiplayer and integrated voice chat, it leans heavily into teamwork, tension, and relentless jump scares.

You wake up in the decrepit New Wishlie Hospital with only a few minutes to find key items, solve simple environmental puzzles, and unlock the garage before the roaming spirit tracks you down. The High School and Cursed Apartment maps follow a similar structure, but each adds its own flavor: searching for anomalies in the apartment or navigating tight corridors in the school keeps every run feeling slightly different, especially when item locations are randomized.

Moment-to-moment gameplay focuses on coordination. Calling out ghost sightings over voice chat, dividing roles between searching and baiting, and clutch escapes when a teammate is dragged away all create memorable sessions. The ghost’s unpredictable patrol routes and sudden appearances build genuine anxiety, particularly when you’re the last survivor.

Visually, The Ghost uses dim lighting, narrow hallways, and flickering effects to create atmosphere rather than relying on high-end graphics. The sound design does a lot of heavy lifting: distant footsteps, door creaks, and distorted whispers make even empty rooms feel threatening.

On the downside, solo play is far less engaging, as the game clearly shines with a full lobby of friends. Matches can feel repetitive after you’ve mastered each map’s objectives, and occasional connection hiccups or lag spikes can break immersion.

For horror fans who enjoy cooperative survival and voice chat chaos, The Ghost delivers a lean but effective scare-fest that’s best experienced late at night with headphones and a brave group of friends.
