Peglin
Peglin blends pachinko chaos with clever roguelike strategy
Peglin takes a simple idea – bouncing balls off pegs – and turns it into a surprisingly deep, tactical roguelike. You guide a tiny goblin through branching stages filled with enemies, choosing orbs and relics that completely reshape how each shot plays out.
Combat is the star. Each battle is essentially a pachinko board: you aim your orb, fire it, and watch it ricochet through pegs. Every peg you hit translates into damage, but smart play is rewarded; hitting crit and refresh pegs at the right moment can massively boost your output or reset a dying board. Bombs add another layer, offering powerful area damage if you can route your shots correctly.
Between fights, you pick new orbs, upgrade your favorites, and grab relics that alter the rules – more crits, extra bounces, healing on hit, and wild physics tweaks. The synergy hunt is addictive, and runs feel meaningfully different thanks to procedurally generated maps, varied events, and bosses that force you to adapt.
The progression model is generous: you can play the first third of the game as much as you like before deciding on a one-time purchase that unlocks the full adventure and future updates. Performance is smooth, and the touch controls feel natural, making aiming and fine adjustments intuitive.
Difficulty can spike quickly, especially for newcomers to roguelikes, and luck plays a noticeable role in both relic drops and peg layouts. However, that unpredictability is also what makes “just one more run” so compelling.
If you enjoy strategic deckbuilders and physics-based puzzlers, Peglin delivers a fresh, highly replayable twist that is both charming and brutally challenging.
