Automation is one of the stronger aspects of ADT Pulse. You can create schedules and rules—like turning on lights at sunset, adjusting temperature when you arm the system, or getting notifications when a specific door opens. It’s not as endlessly customizable as some dedicated smart-home platforms, but for most users, it covers the essentials cleanly.

Performance is generally solid, though occasional lag when loading video feeds or refreshing device status can be noticeable, especially on slower connections. The interface also feels a bit dated compared with more modern smart-home apps, and all features depend heavily on having compatible ADT hardware and an active Pulse subscription.
