ArtPose Female Edition is a dedicated figure-posing tool tailored specifically to artists who work with the female form. Instead of wrestling with wooden mannequins or hunting for photo references, you can dial in a custom 3D pose in minutes and capture it as a reference image for your illustration, comic, or concept art.

The core of the app is its articulated 3D model, which you can rotate, zoom, and adjust joint by joint. A generous library of 240 preset poses, plus preset hand shapes, makes it very easy to jump-start a scene and then refine the stance, balance, and gesture to your needs. The new body shape slider, ranging from skinny to more hourglass proportions, is a welcome touch, allowing you to explore variation in body types rather than being stuck with a single default model.

Lighting and camera tools are surprisingly robust. Image-based lighting and movable lights help you study how shadows fall across the body, while the perspective slider (15º to 115º) lets you exaggerate or flatten depth for dramatic foreshortening. Up to five perspective save slots, along with 20 pose save slots and 10 levels of undo, make experimentation low-risk and fluid.

The interface is clean and focused, though there is a brief learning curve before joint controls feel completely natural. Some artists may miss options like clothing, props, or multiple figures in a scene, and the focus on female anatomy means it’s not a complete reference solution on its own.
