Shadowy platforming with tight controls and brutal ninja combat

Ninja Arashi 2 picks up right where the first game left off, but raises the stakes with a darker story, sharper mechanics, and far more demanding stages. You once again control Arashi, a vengeful ninja chasing the demon Dosu to rescue his son, and the narrative gives real weight to every deadly jump and slash.

At its core, this is a fast, challenging side-scrolling platformer packed with traps, enemies, and secrets. The moment-to-moment action is tense and satisfying: you’ll dash through buzzsaws, wall-jump over spikes, and dispatch foes with shuriken, ninjutsu skills, and now a melee weapon that adds welcome variety to combat. Controls feel responsive and precise, crucial in a game where a single mistake can send you back to the last checkpoint.

Progression is where Ninja Arashi 2 really deepens the formula. The new skill tree and artifact systems let you customize Arashi’s abilities, from improving stealth and agility to boosting damage or survivability. This light RPG layer gives you a reason to replay stages, grind for resources, and experiment with different builds, especially before the epic boss encounters that punctuate each act.

Visually, the game’s shadow-silhouette style still impresses. Stark black figures set against moody, painterly backdrops create a striking atmosphere, and the animations—especially Arashi’s rolls, jumps, and finishers—are fluid and punchy.

The difficulty is unapologetically high, which will thrill veterans but may frustrate newcomers. Some levels lean into trial-and-error design, and the grind to unlock higher-tier skills can feel a bit steep. There are also in-app purchases that speed up progression, which not everyone will appreciate.

Despite these drawbacks, Ninja Arashi 2 stands out as a polished, gripping action-platformer with real depth and style, especially if you crave skill-based, precision challenge.
