EVgo - Fast EV Charging aims to take the guesswork out of powering your electric vehicle by combining a large fast-charging network with a clear, data-rich interface. It focuses on getting you back on the road quickly, while giving you fine-grained control over how and where you charge.

The home screen centers on a map of 1,100+ fast charging stations across 40+ states. Filters let you show only chargers that fit your car’s connector (CHAdeMO, CCS, or NACS), preferred power level, partner networks, and even nearby amenities. Being able to save your specific vehicle—whether a Tesla, Rivian, Chevy, or others—means you rarely waste time pulling up to an incompatible plug.

Once plugged in, the app shines with its real-time session tracking. You can watch your battery percentage, charging speed, estimated cost, and elapsed time update live, which is particularly handy on 350 kW DC fast chargers where every minute counts. This visibility makes it much easier to decide when it’s worth staying for those last few percent.

Value-conscious drivers will appreciate the subscription plans that can unlock lower per-kWh rates, plus special perks for select manufacturers and significant discounts for Uber and Lyft drivers. Roaming access to tens of thousands of additional stalls via partner networks also reduces range anxiety on longer trips.

There are some caveats. Coverage can still feel patchy outside major metro and highway corridors, and availability data for roaming partners is not always perfectly in sync. The interface, while powerful, can feel a bit busy at first, especially for new EV owners.
