Open world crime chaos in a sprawling Vegas playground

Gangstar Vegas: World of Crime drops you into a loud, over-the-top version of Las Vegas, where neon lights, fast cars and constant gunfire form the backdrop to an ambitious open-world crime saga. Framed as an RPG, it gives you a character to grow through story missions, side jobs and seasonal events, rather than just a hollow sandbox.

Gameplay leans heavily into third-person shooting and high-speed chases. Main missions mix shootouts, escort runs, heists and cinematic set pieces, while the city is packed with extra activities: street races, fight-night boxing, alien invasion waves, and challenge modes that keep the action varied. Progression feels satisfying, with a wide selection of weapons, outfits and vehicles to unlock, from sports cars and motorcycles to trucks and boats.

The map itself is one of the game’s biggest strengths. Las Vegas is split into distinct districts with casinos, suburbs, industrial zones and desert highways that invite chaotic experimentation. Explosions, traffic and roaming enemies make the city feel alive, and free-roaming between missions is genuinely fun.

Visually, Gangstar Vegas impresses with detailed environments and flashy effects, though the action-packed streets can lead to occasional frame drops on weaker devices. Touch controls are customizable and generally responsive, but the fast-paced firefights can sometimes feel crowded on smaller screens.

Monetization is where the shine dulls a bit. Many of the best weapons, vehicles and upgrades are tied to in-game currency that can be slow to earn, encouraging microtransactions. It’s still possible to enjoy the full story without paying, but players should expect some grinding.

For anyone craving a chaotic open-world crime experience with RPG progression and a constant stream of events, Gangstar Vegas: World of Crime is loud, messy and, above all, entertaining.
