Powerful video player with smart controls and cloud support

GOM Player brings the experience and flexibility of its well-known desktop counterpart into a compact, touch-friendly package that’s clearly built for everyday viewing. It focuses on doing one thing very well: playing almost any video you throw at it, with as little fuss as possible.

Format support is excellent. Most common file types, including many non-encoded videos, start instantly and run smoothly. The app even handles 360-degree videos, letting you swipe around the scene for an immersive experience that still feels surprisingly fluid on less powerful hardware.

The interface is clean and gesture-driven. Swiping to adjust brightness or volume, or dragging to seek through a clip, quickly becomes second nature. Playback speed control, a sleep timer and the ability to capture screenshots mid‑video add welcome convenience for both casual watching and more “serious” use, like studying footage or tutorials.

Cloud and network connectivity is another highlight. Direct access to Dropbox, Google Drive, WebDAV and FTP servers means you don’t have to shuffle files back and forth manually; your library can live where it’s most convenient, yet still feel local and responsive inside the player.

Subtitle management is robust, with precise syncing controls, size adjustments and easy toggling, making foreign-language content much easier to enjoy. Advanced settings let power users fine-tune playback behavior and interface options.

There are a few caveats: some advanced audio codecs like EAC3 and DTS require payment and are limited to supported devices, and the interface, while functional, won’t win design awards. Still, for anyone seeking a versatile, gesture-friendly video player with strong format support and seamless cloud integration, GOM Player stands out as a reliable daily driver.
