Intense horror adventure with clever puzzles and dual heroes

Ice Scream 7 continues the chilling saga with a tighter focus on cooperation, exploration, and puzzle-solving, delivering one of the most polished chapters in the series so far. Picking up right after the events in the factory, you alternate between Lis and Mike as they try to reunite with their friends and finally outwit the sadistic ice cream vendor, Rod.

The new character swapping system is the standout feature. Each hero has access to different areas of the lab, so progress often relies on using one character to unlock paths or items for the other. This is reinforced by an item exchange mechanic that feels fresh for the series, making you think carefully about who should carry what and when to trade.

Puzzles strike a good balance between accessibility and challenge. Many are classic environmental riddles—finding codes, manipulating machinery, combining objects—while others appear as self-contained mini-games that break up the tension nicely. When things get too tricky, the integrated hint and mission system provides clear, step-by-step guidance without completely spoiling the fun.

Stealth and cat-and-mouse encounters with Rod and his Mini-Rods remain central to the experience. Navigating the two main laboratory areas, Chemistry and Robotics, alongside revisited locations from earlier entries, gives the game a welcome sense of continuity and fan service. The atmosphere is reinforced by an original soundtrack and custom voice work that match the series’ mix of dark humor and cartoonish horror.

On the downside, some backtracking between characters can feel repetitive, and the enemy AI is more predictable than truly terrifying. Still, Ice Scream 7 delivers a satisfying, story-driven horror adventure that fans will not want to miss, while offering enough guidance to be approachable for newcomers.
