Tower of Fantasy drops you onto the planet Aida, a shattered sci-fi world where humanity’s ambitious energy experiments have gone catastrophically wrong. What stands out immediately is its vibrant anime art style: lush fields, neon-lit facilities, towering Omnium structures and ruined outposts all blend into a cohesive, striking landscape that invites exploration.

The game shines in combat. You equip multiple weapons and can swap between them on the fly, chaining aerial juggles, dodges and special skills into flashy combos. Each weapon effectively acts as a “playstyle,” from nimble dual blades to heavy hammers or ranged cannons, and finding a loadout that suits you is a big part of the fun. Cooperative boss fights and world events make good use of this system, especially when you coordinate roles with friends.

Customization is another highlight. The character creator is robust, letting you craft a distinct anime hero, while the “Simulacra” system wraps powerful weapons in fully voiced characters with their own personalities and backstories. Exploration is packed with chests, environmental puzzles, platforming challenges and quirky gadgets that double as traversal tools, like jetpacks and grappling devices.

However, the game leans heavily on gacha mechanics. Progression and access to top-tier weapons are tied to randomized pulls, which may frustrate players who dislike chance-based systems. There is also a noticeable grind in daily activities and resource farming, particularly once you reach higher levels. Performance can be uneven on weaker hardware, with occasional stutters during busy fights.

Despite these caveats, Tower of Fantasy delivers a rich shared-world experience with fast, satisfying combat and a beautiful sci-fi setting. For players who enjoy anime aesthetics, MMO-style progression and cooperative adventures, it offers a substantial and evolving playground.
