LG ThinQ
Control your LG smart home with one intuitive dashboard
LG ThinQ is designed as a central hub for managing LG-connected appliances, and it does a convincing job of turning a scattered collection of devices into a coherent smart ecosystem. From the Home tab, you can quickly see the status of your fridge, washer, air conditioner, TV, air purifier, and more, then control them individually or as part of automated routines.
The app’s biggest strength is how deeply it integrates with LG appliances. Features like Smart Diagnosis let you run quick checks on devices that are acting up, often suggesting fixes before you need to call support. When that’s not enough, you can request a service visit directly from the app, keeping troubleshooting and maintenance in one place.
Automation is another highlight. You can create routines that match your daily habits—like turning on the lights and air purifier with your wake-up alarm or powering everything down when you leave for a trip. The Energy Monitoring section is especially useful for keeping an eye on power usage, comparing it with similar households, and setting saving goals with helpful notifications.
ThinQ Play adds an extra layer by letting you expand the capabilities of compatible products through additional apps and features, effectively “upgrading” your existing hardware based on your lifestyle.
However, LG ThinQ is at its best if your home is heavily invested in LG products; support for non-LG devices is limited or nonexistent. Some users may also notice occasional delays in updating device status or executing commands, especially on slower networks.
Overall, LG ThinQ offers a polished, feature-rich way to manage a modern LG-powered home, blending convenience, maintenance, and energy awareness into a single, capable control center.
