Colorful RTS chaos with simple controls and addictive battles

Cartoon Craft is a compact real-time strategy experience that clearly takes inspiration from classic fantasy RTS games, then wraps everything in a lighthearted, cartoony skin. Despite its cute look, there is a surprisingly solid layer of tactics underneath.

The core loop is familiar and satisfying. You send workers to mine gold and chop lumber, then invest those resources into buildings, units, and defenses. Barracks and related structures unlock a variety of troops: basic soldiers, ranged archers, sturdier sword fighters, hulking trolls, and even tank-like units that soak up damage on the frontline. Deciding whether to boom your economy with more workers and towers or rush early with a lean guerrilla force gives each match a distinct rhythm.

Controls are straightforward: tapping to select, dragging to create groups, and simple icons for constructing buildings and training units. This keeps the game accessible even if you’re new to the genre, while still letting veterans pull off classic RTS maneuvers like scouting, early harassment, and coordinated base assaults.

Visually, Cartoon Craft is charming. Units and buildings are bold and easy to distinguish at a glance, and the exaggerated animations make even big battles readable rather than chaotic. The humorous tone softens the usual grim war theme, adding personality to what could have been a very standard strategy title.

There are a few rough edges. Unit pathfinding can be clumsy in tight spaces, and missions may start to feel repetitive once you master the basic build orders. Strategic depth is lighter than in full-scale PC RTS games, especially in the late game where massing a few powerful unit types often wins.

Still, as a streamlined, pick-up-and-play strategy game with real tactical decisions, Cartoon Craft delivers energetic, bite-sized battles that are easy to learn and rewarding to master.
