Build the ultimate kaiju defense in Godzilla Defense Force

Godzilla Defense Force is a surprisingly deep mix of idle clicker and base defense that turns the entire Godzilla film catalog into a collectible, city-smashing playground. If you’ve ever wanted to stand toe-to-toe with classic kaiju while also recruiting them to your side, this game delivers exactly that fantasy.

You start by defending iconic cities such as Tokyo, London, and Sydney from waves of monsters drawn from 29 different Godzilla movies, from the 1954 original to modern reboots. Battles are fast and tap-heavy: you deploy units, trigger skills, and frantically ramp up your firepower as Godzilla and other legendary beasts stomp toward your base. Even when you’re not actively playing, your base keeps generating resources, giving it that familiar idle-game loop.

What really sets Godzilla Defense Force apart for fans is its collection system. Each defeated kaiju can be turned into a Monster Card, granting permanent buffs or powerful active abilities in future battles. Unlocking the Codex feels like browsing a digital museum, with trivia and images that celebrate TOHO’s long-running franchise.

Progression goes beyond simple upgrades. There’s a quirky time-travel element and even lunar colonization, letting you establish new bases and push deeper into the timeline of Godzilla history. This keeps the structure fresh, at least for a while.

However, the game’s stronger points come with some caveats. The grind can get intense as you hit difficulty walls, pushing you toward premium currency and microtransactions. Repetition also creeps in once you’ve seen most enemy patterns, especially if you’re not deeply invested in collecting every card.

For kaiju enthusiasts, though, Godzilla Defense Force is a rich, fan-service-packed defense game that combines simple mechanics with an impressive reverence for the source material.
