Fireboy & Watergirl: Forest brings the classic browser duo to handheld play with a focused mix of platforming, teamwork and lightbrain-teasing puzzles. You guide Fireboy, who can safely cross lava but is harmed by water, and Watergirl, who thrives in water but must avoid fire. The objective is simple but satisfying: reach each exit safely while collecting diamonds and beating level times.

The game’s 32 stages are compact yet varied, built around doors, pressure plates, seesaws, moving platforms and color-coded switches. Early levels gently introduce the elemental rules and cooperative mechanics, while later ones demand tight coordination and a bit of planning. The level design remains the highlight, constantly finding new ways to remix a limited set of mechanics without becoming overwhelming.

Controls are straightforward: an on-screen layout lets you move, jump and swap between characters if you are playing solo. They work adequately for most situations, though some players may find precise jumps a bit fiddly on smaller screens. Where the game really shines is in local two-player mode on a single device, turning each level into a fun couch-style puzzle challenge as you shout instructions and time jumps together.

Visually, the presentation is clean and faithful to the original series, with clear silhouettes, readable hazards and distinct colors for each element. The minimalist audio design does its job without distraction.

Fireboy & Watergirl: Forest is best suited for quick sessions or shared play, offering a nostalgic yet still engaging platformer-puzzle experience. A few more quality-of-life options, such as adjustable controls or additional levels, would be welcome, but the core adventure remains charming, clever and surprisingly replayable.
