Solar Smash is a gleefully over-the-top space simulator that turns the universe into your personal playground of chaos. Rather than focusing on missions or story, it hands you a toolbox of devastating weapons and invites you to see what happens when you unleash them on unsuspecting planets and star systems.

The experience is split into two main modes. Planet Smash is the instant-gratification option: you pick a planet or exotic construct and bombard it with lasers, nukes, antimatter missiles, black holes, giant monsters, UFOs and even bizarre options like space shibas or laser swords. Watching continents crack, atmospheres burn away and cores explode is oddly hypnotic, helped by detailed destruction effects and smooth, dramatic camera controls.

Solar System Smash offers a more simulation-like experience. Here you can tweak orbits, add planets, crash worlds together or throw a black hole into a stable system and watch physics take over. It is less about raw spectacle and more about experimenting with gravitational interactions and chain reactions, making it surprisingly educational as well as entertaining.

Visually, Solar Smash delivers satisfying particle effects, planetary textures and lighting that make every cataclysm look impressive. Performance is generally solid, though the most extreme scenarios with many objects and effects can cause slowdowns on weaker hardware.

On the downside, the game is light on structure: there are no real objectives, progression systems or long-term goals, so the appeal rests entirely on your appetite for experimentation. Ads can also feel intrusive during longer sessions, although they do not ruin the core experience.
