Limitless ragdoll chaos in a creative horror sandbox

People Workshop Playground is a physics-driven sandbox that hands you a box of terrifying toys and simply asks, “What if?” Instead of missions or storylines, it gives you full control over a cast of modded characters and monsters, then lets your imagination do the rest.

At its core, this is a ragdoll playground. You can fling, slice, smash, and experiment with “living” stickmen, cameramen, chainsawmen, speakermen, and other horror-flavored creatures. The physics system is intentionally exaggerated, turning every collision and fall into slapstick gore that swings between darkly comic and genuinely unsettling. Fans of creative destruction will feel right at home.

The real appeal lies in customization. People Workshop Playground supports a variety of Melon-style stickman mods, Chainsaw Man and Doors-inspired skins, and a collection of props like katanas, chainsaws, and oddities such as watermelons used as improvised weapons or set pieces. With these tools, you can build your own horror stages, simulate bizarre experiments, or just chain together absurd scenes to see what the engine can handle.

Visually, the game relies on simple, stylized models that keep things readable even when chaos erupts on-screen. Sound and effects are minimal but effective enough to sell impacts and tension. It is clearly designed for quick, repeatable sessions rather than long narrative play.

The downside is the lack of structure: there are no real goals beyond what you invent yourself, and some props and scenarios can start to feel repetitive over time. Still, if you enjoy open-ended sandbox experiments with a horror twist, People Workshop Playground offers an entertaining and surprisingly flexible toybox.
