AB Evolution 2023 takes the familiar Angry Birds universe and gives it a fresh, surprisingly deep RPG twist. Instead of flinging birds from a slingshot, you build a squad of heroes and launch them across compact arenas, bouncing off walls and enemies in tactical, pinball-style combat.

The heart of the experience is collection and evolution. You can hatch classics like Red, Bomb and Chuck, plus more than a hundred new birds, each with their own classes, stats and special abilities. Levelling them up, evolving them into cooler forms, and experimenting with team synergies is genuinely satisfying, especially when you finally assemble a squad that can steamroll stubborn pig formations.

Visually, the game is a standout. Character models are detailed, animations are fluid and the environments feel vibrant. It really does look close to a console release, with flashy skill effects and expressive birds that give battles plenty of personality.

Content-wise, AB Evolution 2023 offers a mix of story-driven missions, dungeons and the mysterious Bacon Corp plotline, plus regular events and clan activities that keep you coming back. The Pigball PVP mode adds a competitive edge, letting you test your lineup against other players and climb leagues for extra rewards.

However, the free-to-play structure means you’ll encounter a familiar grind. Progression can slow substantially without dipping into in-app purchases, and the gacha-style hatching system may frustrate players who dislike randomness or repetition. The interface is also quite busy at first, with a lot of menus and currencies to grasp.

If you enjoy team-building RPGs with a collectible focus and do not mind a bit of grind and monetization pressure, AB Evolution 2023 offers an entertaining, polished extension of the Angry Birds world with plenty of depth beneath its cartoon surface.
