Charming planet builder mixing chill crafting with light combat

My Little Universe is a surprisingly engrossing god-game that turns a tiny chunk of rock into a sprawling playground of mining, crafting and monster-bashing. You start as a lone orange astronaut with a pickaxe and gradually transform a barren world into a vibrant, multi-biome planet packed with resources and secrets.

Gameplay is deceptively simple: move around, swing your tool, gather up to 15 types of resources and spend them to unlock new tiles, buildings and upgrades. Each cleared patch reveals more of the planet, new materials, and tougher enemies. The top-down 3D visuals are clean and colorful, making it easy to distinguish ores, trees and foes at a glance, while the gentle soundtrack helps the whole experience feel oddly relaxing despite the constant activity.

Progression is My Little Universe’s biggest strength. Upgrading your pickaxe through multiple levels noticeably boosts your efficiency in both harvesting and combat, and new areas regularly introduce fresh mechanics or environmental twists. Short sessions are still rewarding, but it’s just as easy to get hooked for longer runs as you chase your next upgrade or biome.

However, the design leans heavily on repetition. The core loop—chop, mine, build, fight—remains mostly the same across worlds, which can feel grindy over time. The monetization layer, with frequent ad opportunities and optional purchases, may also test the patience of players who prefer a completely uninterrupted experience.

Despite these drawbacks, My Little Universe stands out as a cozy yet satisfying action-crafting title. If you enjoy incremental progression, simple controls and the pleasure of watching a world slowly take shape under your guidance, this is a charming way to lose track of an afternoon.
