The main drawback is the familiar free-to-play tension: tough later levels can nudge you toward using boosters or extra lives, and players who dislike occasional difficulty spikes may feel frustrated. However, patient players can still progress without spending, especially by taking advantage of events and rewards.

Overall, Genies & Gems is a delightful, content-rich match-3 title that successfully blends puzzle satisfaction with a lighthearted magical quest.
