Track every workout and join a global fitness community

Strava has evolved from a simple run and ride tracker into a full-blown social network for athletes of all levels. At its core, it excels at recording almost any activity you can think of: running, cycling, walking, hiking, gym sessions, yoga and dozens more. GPS tracking is generally accurate, and once your workout is saved, you’re greeted with clear stats like distance, pace, elevation and heart rate (when paired with compatible sensors).

One of Strava’s biggest strengths is its ecosystem. It connects seamlessly with watches and fitness devices such as Garmin, Fitbit and others, so your data funnels into a single history of your training. The interface is intuitive: starting an activity is quick, and your feed feels like a timeline of real-world effort from friends, club members and pro athletes.

The social features set Strava apart. Segments turn familiar routes into mini race courses, letting you compare times with others and chase leaderboards. Clubs and challenges add structure and motivation, making it easy to find local groups or commit to monthly goals and badges. Features like Beacon, which shares your live location with trusted contacts, provide an extra layer of confidence when you head out alone.

However, some of Strava’s most powerful tools sit behind a subscription. Deeper performance analytics, detailed route planning and live segment feedback are limited in the free version. The busy social feed can feel cluttered if you follow many people, and privacy-conscious users should spend time fine-tuning visibility settings.

Despite these caveats, Strava delivers one of the most engaging and motivating fitness tracking experiences available. For anyone who thrives on data, community and a touch of friendly competition, it is an exceptional training companion.
