KillApps
Close background apps in one tap for smoother performance
KillApps is a straightforward task manager designed for people who like to keep tight control over what’s running on their device. Its core promise is simple: with a single touch, you can close all background apps, or selectively stop only the ones you don’t need.
The interface is clean and functional. A scrollable list shows currently running processes, clearly distinguishing between user apps and system apps. From there, you can either shut down everything at once or pick specific apps to force stop, which is useful if you want to preserve messaging or music while closing games or heavy tools.
A built‑in RAM monitor gives you an instant view of memory usage, so you can see how much you’ve freed after a cleanup. The widget is a nice touch as well, letting you trigger a mass close directly from the home screen without opening the main interface. Despite the nature of what it does, KillApps is surprisingly light on battery, and in normal use it doesn’t feel intrusive or resource-hungry.
Privacy-conscious users will appreciate that it doesn’t collect data, though it does require accessibility service permission to function. This may look intimidating, but it is technically necessary for an app that force stops other apps.
There are a few caveats. Modern systems already manage memory fairly efficiently, so aggressive, constant killing of apps may not always translate into big performance gains and can occasionally lead to slower reopen times. Still, for devices that feel sluggish or for users who run many apps in parallel, KillApps offers a quick, no-nonsense way to reclaim RAM and reduce background clutter.
