Deceptive platformer that turns every jump into a surprise

Level Devil presents itself as a “nice, pleasant game with no surprises,” and that’s the first of many tricks it plays on you. Beneath the cheerful marketing lies a cleverly cruel precision platformer that lives to yank the floor out from under your feet—literally.

Each stage looks simple at first glance: reach the goal, avoid a few buzzsaws, hop across some platforms. Then the game starts cheating in delightful ways. Platforms suddenly vanish, ceilings drop down, spikes pop out where you least expect them, and safe ground becomes a trap the moment you trust it. The result is a constant cycle of shock, laughter, and “just one more try.”

Controls are tight and responsive, which is crucial when success often depends on last-frame jumps and quick reactions. Instant respawns keep frustration in check; you’ll fail constantly, but you’re back in the action so fast that it rarely feels unfair, even when the level design is openly trolling you.

Visually, Level Devil leans into clean, colorful graphics that contrast beautifully with the sadistic level design. Buzzsaws, spikes, and other hazards are rendered with playful charm, making the chaos feel more mischievous than mean-spirited. The upbeat presentation also helps sell the joke of its “you will never die” promise.

With around 200 levels, difficulty ramps from mildly surprising to outright devious, and hidden secrets add replay value for those who want to master every twist. The local 2-player mode is a standout extra, turning the mayhem into a hilarious shared experience as you watch friends fall for the same traps you did.

Level Devil is not truly relaxing, but it is consistently entertaining. If you enjoy rage-inducing yet fair challenges wrapped in a cute package, this is a devilishly fun choice.
