The app’s main strength is its full support for the iOS Passbook and Wallet standard. Any pass issued in that format can be imported with a single tap, whether it arrives via email, file, or a dedicated QR code. Once added, Wallet handles automatic updates gracefully: changes to gate numbers, seat assignments, or coupon validity appear clearly, with visual highlights showing exactly what has been modified.

Organization is thoughtfully designed. Passes are grouped by type and issuer, so boarding passes, loyalty cards, and event tickets never blend into a confusing list. You can reorder cards using drag and drop, building stacks for frequent airlines or favorite stores. When it matters most, time- and location-based notifications, including iBeacon support, can remind you of an upcoming flight or a coupon near its relevant store.

Power users will appreciate the built-in QR scanner for quick pass imports and the Google Drive backup and restore option, which makes switching or resetting devices less painful. Barcode support is extensive too, covering QR, PDF417, Aztec, and Code 128 formats.

There are clear limitations: Wallet does not convert physical plastic cards or paper tickets into digital form, and it relies entirely on issuers providing compatible electronic passes. If your airline or store still lives in the analog world, Wallet can’t bridge that gap.
