Cinematic DC battles with card collecting depth and strategy

Injustice: Gods Among Us delivers a satisfying blend of fighting game action and collectible card strategy set in the darker side of the DC universe. You assemble a squad of heroes and villains, then jump into fast-paced 3-on-3 battles that feel surprisingly close to the console experience.

Combat is entirely touch-driven, built around taps, swipes, blocks and well-timed specials. It’s simple to pick up, but chaining combos, managing power meters and timing tag-ins gives every match a welcome layer of tactical nuance. Super moves are a highlight: each character unleashes over-the-top, cinematic attacks that never stop being fun to watch.

Progression revolves around expanding and upgrading your card collection. Each character can be ranked up, promoted and equipped with gear, letting you fine-tune team synergies. Alternate versions of icons like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman add fresh move sets and passives, encouraging experimentation instead of sticking to a single lineup.

Online multiplayer is a major hook, pitting your team against others in asynchronous battles. Leaderboards, seasons and tournament-style events provide long-term goals and valuable rewards, though higher tiers clearly favor players willing to invest heavily in premium packs and recharges.

Visually, Injustice still impresses. Character models, animations and stage backdrops such as Arkham Asylum and the Batcave are richly detailed, and super attacks are framed like mini cutscenes. Performance is generally smooth, even with effects-heavy specials.

The biggest drawback is grind: leveling, promoting and fusing characters can feel repetitive, especially when energy limits and difficulty spikes push you toward microtransactions. Still, for fans of DC and accessible fighting games, Injustice offers a deep, content-rich brawler that remains compelling well beyond the opening matches.
