Glimp
Glimp turns Libre glucose data into actionable insights
Glimp is a powerful companion for people with diabetes who use Abbott Freestyle Libre and Libre Pro sensors, turning raw glucose readings into a detailed, customizable logbook. Instead of relying solely on the standard reader, Glimp lets you scan your sensor directly using your device’s NFC, then stores glucose values alongside insulin doses, carbohydrate intake and physical activity.
The result is a comprehensive picture of your day-to-day diabetes management. The main graph view is at the heart of the experience, showing trends over time rather than isolated numbers, which can help you spot patterns such as nocturnal lows or post-meal spikes. Glimp also supports continuous monitoring by keeping your device in an armband over the sensor, a clever workaround for users who want closer tracking without extra dedicated hardware.
Remote monitoring is another highlight. Using Dropbox and Nightscout integration, Glimp can share glucose data so caregivers or family members can stay informed in near real time. There is also compatibility with Wear OS, useful for at-a-glance viewing on the wrist, although sensor reading itself must still be done on the device.
This tool is oriented toward more advanced users: you need an NFC-enabled device, must keep the app open on the graph screen to scan, and correctly interpret vibration signals to confirm successful readings. It does not support Libre 2 or the US 14‑day Libre sensors, and new sensors must be initialized first with the official reader or with Glimp S.
For those willing to navigate these technical requirements, Glimp offers a rich, flexible environment to manage and analyze glucose data beyond what basic readers provide, making it especially appealing to users who like fine-grained control over their diabetes tracking.
