Flying Gorilla
Chaotic endless runner with a wonderfully absurd flying gorilla
Flying Gorilla takes the familiar endless runner formula and turns it into something gleefully unhinged. You play as a muscular gorilla soaring through colorful 3D environments, dodging obstacles, smashing scenery, and hoarding bananas while a delightfully silly soundtrack pumps in the background.
Gameplay is straightforward but surprisingly satisfying. You steer your gorilla left and right, weaving between columns, enemies, and hazards while trying to maintain a smooth line and keep your combo going. The game offers two main ways to play: an endless mode where you chase high scores and leaderboards, and a level-based mode with specific stages and challenges that gradually ramp up in difficulty. Both modes can be addictive, encouraging “just one more run” sessions.
Visually, Flying Gorilla leans into its meme-like personality. The 3D graphics are bright, exaggerated, and intentionally over-the-top, with piggies, yellow birds, and obstacles scattered across surreal landscapes. Customizable skins let you dress up your gorilla, adding a light layer of progression as you unlock new looks.
The downside is that the core loop can become repetitive over long sessions. Runs often feel similar, and while the maps are varied, the mechanics don’t evolve much beyond dodging and collecting. The humor and chaos help mask this, but players looking for deep systems or complex upgrades may find the experience a bit shallow. Expect ads and optional in-app purchases as well.
Despite these drawbacks, Flying Gorilla succeeds at what it sets out to do: deliver a ridiculous, fast-paced, pick-up-and-play time-waster that doesn’t take itself seriously. If you enjoy quirky, high-score chases and slapstick chaos, this flying primate is worth a spin.
