Save Twitter videos as GIFs and MP4s in seconds

Tweet2gif is a lean, purpose-built tool designed for one job: turning Twitter videos into files you can actually keep and reuse. It strips away all distractions and focuses on making the process as quick and painless as possible.

The workflow is refreshingly simple. From a tweet, you either copy its link or use the standard Share option, then switch to Tweet2gif. The app automatically reads the link from your clipboard (or from the Share intent), parses the tweet, and presents you with download options. In a couple of taps, the video is on your device as either an MP4 or a looping animated GIF.

Being able to choose between MP4 and GIF is the real standout feature here. MP4 is ideal for preserving quality and sound, while GIFs are perfect for memes, reactions, or sharing where video isn’t supported. You can also select the destination folder, including your gallery, which keeps saved clips organized and easy to find.

Tweet2gif is privacy-friendly by design: it doesn’t ask for access to your Twitter account and keeps permissions to the bare minimum needed to store files. A built‑in history (currently marked as beta) helps you revisit previously saved media without hunting through folders.

There is a separate Plus version that adds automatic processing (so you don’t have to switch screens), higher quality options where available, and an extended history. The free version, however, already covers the essential use case very well.

Limitations are mostly inherent to the platform: protected tweets, removed content, or connection issues can prevent downloads. But when the tweet is accessible, Tweet2gif delivers a fast, reliable way to capture Twitter videos and turn them into shareable files with minimal effort.
